Too much rain

The pictures were taken at Leigh and David's wedding in January.

It's raining, and it can stop any time now. the news says it only rained an inch, we think it was more like 3 inches or better here. Lots of water in the basement so spent the evening trying to pump it out. Loren is taking his motorcycle safety course so it was just me.

Busy week. Andrew had another tooth pulled on Weds. Then he decided to get sick on Thursday so I had to pick him up from school. Scout meetings on Tues and Weds, soccer on Mon and Weds, AWANA on Weds and there was something last night but I can't remember what. Cancelled piano today because of water in the basement. Also cancelled KAB for tomorrow with Scouts. I never know if that's a good idea or not. Some times I think it should be rain or shine. Guess I can't please everybody.

The house is going well. They've got the footings in and alot of the dirt work done. The next step is bathroom fixtures.

Sunday, April 6

April 1st was the dig day, and by Friday they already had the footings in. We met at the lot today to discuss the garage and driveway, the house is really long. Have been spending alot of time on www.hgtv.com looking at fireplaces and bathrooms. I think we've got the fireplace part figured out. We've chosen green for the shingles and "snow" for the siding along with grey shutters. The front door will be green as well to draw down some of the color from the roof. Guess the house is supposed to have 3 colors to be asthetically pleasing? whatever.
Well, I didn't get the taxes done. I can't seem to locate my W2- which of course is not uncommon for me. I'd loose my head if it weren't attached to my body. So coming to crunch time and have to get them done. Will get a copy of the w-2.

So, we had soccer practice yesterday, went for 2 hours and Aaron had alot of fun, got some excercise and got a sunburn. I'll have to post our snow pictures tomorrow, so people know we actually had a ton of snow. In fact, we still have snow drifts that are melting, was a beautiful weekend though.
Church was good this morning, Brooks is starting a series on spiritual warfare and I'm really looking forward to it. He preached on Genesis this morning and will move on to Ephesions next week.

That's it. Didn't get all done I wanted to, except got the van cleaned out and filled 3 garbage bags of trash. To embarrassed to post a pick of what our house really looks like. Can't wait to move.

Love,
Me

April 4, 2008

Ok, just a day in my life, right? So here's what went on today.

Work was, well work. Got there at 8:30 and left at 3:30. Prior to that I made sure the kids got on the bus. Fortunately it wasn't the typical Friday morning fight as I made sure Aaron had his homework ready to go last night. A little frustrated because he wasn't done yet when I got home from my
Scout meeting. Also had Andrew ready so the bus didn't need to wait.

After work we all loaded up and went to piano lessons in Coralville. We were late of course b/c of an accident on I-380. While there I sat chatting with Theresa and Nathan and started talking about Andrew's teeth. Reached in to show which one was getting a pulled, and it popped out. So much for that tooth. Still need to get one pulled though.

After piano we headed up to the lot to see how things are going there. A lot of progress in just a couple of days. We went Tuesday when they had just dug the hole. Today they have half the struts up. So I think it's going to go fast. Wish I could have taken Andrew up to the lot but it was just to muddy. Let Aaron use my camara and take some pics though. If I get to it this weekend I'll try and post some pics.

A lot of stuff to do this weekend, and it looks to be beautiful.

To Do: TAXES!!!!!, I need to start going through stuff downstairs. My goal is to work on it for a minimum of 1/2 hour both Saturday and Sunday. If that's all I do I should get a lot done. Then of course there are dishes and laundry and our bedroom is a pit. Need to get the old dresser out and the new one in. Aaron has soccer practice tomorrow and of course church and Bible Study on Sunday.
